The basis of the firm is to provide principal involvement in all phases of every project. Participation by the firm’s founders is accomplished through the use of a studio format in which the principals are at the forefront of day to day operations. A composition of diverse, yet complementary design and construction talent based in Scottsdale, Arizona, is the driving force behind the firm’s success. Our professional diversity has allowed us to provide our clients with experience, numerous projects completed on time and within budget, and the ability to be the recipient of several landscape design awards. Most importantly, Neill-Vecchia and Associates has been an asset to both its residential and commercial clients, having been retained on subsequent projects based on our previous successes. Our staff includes individuals who possess a true enthusiasm for the services we provide and to the profession in which we work. A high level of technical competence, task responsibility and desire to provide the best service possible for our clients embodies the attitude of the firm.

The two principals of the firm, Todd Neill and Paul Vecchia, provide an established presence in the profession, having worked in nearly every Arizona city while also keeping active throughout the Western region of the United States and Baja Mexico with projects ranging from the Mohave and Sonoran desert environments of the United States and Mexico to the alpine regions of the Rocky Mountains in Idaho and Colorado, and the coastal areas of California coast. They have been able to attract and maintain a wide range of private and public sector clients based on their combined years of professional design and experience throughout the west. Their presence and involvement in each project has produced both satisfied clients and successful projects throughout the firm’s history.

Todd Neill - Principal

image A graduate of the University of Idaho, Todd Neill and his partner formed Neill-Vecchia and Associates in 1993. Mr. Neill has over 20 years of experience in Landscape Architecture and Land Planning for both public and private sector projects. He is CLARB certified and a registered landscape architect in the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Texas, Utah, Wyoming, New York, Michigan, and Nebraska. His practice has encompassed a broad scope of projects ranging from urban design, indigenous landscape designs for both high altitude and desert regions, commercial and retail developments, golf and resort facility development, private and public clubhouse facilities, single family developments and multi family developments.

Mr. Neill collaborates with design professionals, artists, government agencies, and neighborhood groups to design successful spaces that reflect the diversity and cultural richness of their surroundings. As Principal Landscape Architect, Mr. Neill oversees all aspects of the design and production of the firm projects. He also serves as an advisor for the College of Art and Architecture at the University of Idaho. Some of his most recent projects include the following:

Paul Vecchia - Principal

image Paul Vecchia has an extensive professional experience in the planning, design, and implementation of projects throughout the Southwest Desert region, extensively focusing on arid region and indigenous drought tolerant master planned/golf course communities, resort and recreational design. Mr. Vecchia received his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design and Urban Planning from Arizona State University in 1989. He has been responsible for such diverse project such as:

• Award winning Desert Mountain & Desert Highlands Communities in Scottsdale, Arizona

• C7 Ranch Master Planning outside Houston, Texas
• Various Trillium High Density Developments in and around Phoenix, Arizona


These projects required sensitive design and detailing consistent with their respective context yet are also contemporary in their expression. Mr. Vecchia serves as head designer on most projects and maintains quality control on all work completed.

Mr. Vecchia also serves on the Green Building Committee for the City of Scottsdale, Arizona, as well as being an Executive Council Member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metropolitan Phoenix. He has also participated in the preparation of community planning graphics and zoning submittals. Mr. Vecchia is well versed in the process of city liaison and coordinator. He has worked closely with council members, parks boards, and staff to design and implement several major park and recreational projects.
